Serve as a “Bridge to the Future” in family medicine, by providing outstanding clinical training to all residents that results in high quality care to patients in the community.

Mission:
West Jersey-Memorial Family Practice Residency at Virtua will cultivate physicians who, with the patient, stand at the core of lifelong health by integrating the physical, emotional and family needs of patients. Furthermore, these physicians will be dedicated to cultivating evidence based long term learning and application to healthcare and to the education of their patients.

West Jersey-Memorial Family Practice Residency Academic Affiliation

The West Jersey-Memorial Family Practice Residency participates in the Network of Affiliated Family Practice Residencies of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Department of Family Practice. Through this affiliation, faculty and residents are offered unique educational experiences such as bi-annual faculty development lectures, AAFP ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) course, a "Professionalism in Medicine" seminar for all PGY1 residents, career seminar for PGY-2's, and practice management seminar for PGY-3's. Additionally, the Department annual Grand Rounds features a noted speaker addressing issues of importance to our specialty.

ACGME Accrediation

The West Jersey-Memorial Family Practice Residency is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
